Penrhyn Castle
I cannot remember how I found this castle (must of been a Google search or looking through a National Trust handbook), but once I had seen a few photos of it I decided that the next available weekend I would drive there.
As the last castle I visited was recommended by a friend (Powis Castle), I decide to ask that friend if she would like to see Penrhyn Castle.
The drive didn’t take that long, about 3 hours. The route took us on a road that ran very close to the north Welsh coast, where we spotted another castle (still unknown) that I’ll save for another trip.
After we had walked around the castle, we were going to drive to the beach. Instead I asked my friend if she would like to see a waterfall, as she has never been to one before. I know of an impressive waterfall that would not be to far off our return route; Pistyll Rhaeadr. This route took us along the A5 through Snowdonia National Park.
I have to say if you have never driven that part of Wales you need to, it is breath taking.
